If you contact me by email, WhatsApp or phone, I process what you send or tell me: your name, contact details (email address, phone number or WhatsApp profile), the content of your message and any other information you choose to share. The contact card (vCard) download is a static file; downloading it does not submit any data to me.

This website does not set any cookies and does not store anything in your browser. I do not sell your personal data.

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, how many people visit this website and which pages and sources they come from. It is cookieless: it does not set cookies or use local storage, does not build profiles and does not track you across websites. It reports only aggregated statistics such as pages visited, referrer, country and browser or device type. Cloudflare processes this data on my behalf.

I use your data to respond to your inquiry, to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement, and to discuss or prepare a potential engagement.

I process your data because you asked me something and I need it to reply and prepare a possible engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). I also have a legitimate interest in handling enquiries, running my business and measuring in aggregate how the website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this at any time; see Your rights.

I keep your data only as long as needed to handle your request. If no engagement follows, I delete it within 12 months after the conversation ends. If an engagement does follow, I keep the data that I am legally required to retain (such as administrative records) for the applicable statutory period.

I do not share your data with third parties, except where the law requires it or to service providers that process data on my behalf. The website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare, which acts as hosting and CDN provider and may process technical data such as your IP address to serve the site and to provide the aggregated analytics described above. If you contact me via WhatsApp, your messages are processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under their own terms and privacy policy.

Cloudflare, which hosts this website, may process data outside the European Economic Area. For transfers to the United States it relies on its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a fallback. If you contact me via WhatsApp, transfers by WhatsApp (Meta) are covered by Meta's own privacy policy.

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise these rights, email contact@niekverhaar.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
